April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US, is among a select category of females who have won medals in more than one Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to win her third gold medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. With her age of 39, this may be her final opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. Still confident, however. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that if you play your highest, and even perform well, you will win the gold. This is also a matter of chance. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a pre-schooler, she competed in indoor volleyball along with basketball and track. Though she excelled at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her skills were above the average. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court as per her bio at the college. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Ross is currently playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before this. In reality, she was a winner of numerous major events with two different partners, one of which is a volleyball icon. For six years from 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Along together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009 when she competed on the international circuit. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball medal in the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, years before becoming a professional. Her time at the school was an impressive one. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year honors and was an All-American. The Trojans could also reach the Final Four with her help. The Trojans were devastated by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she managed to become an All-American in her second year. In her two final years with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. In 2003-04, Ross was named the best female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the United States through the Honda Sports Award. Ross studied the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But she still keeps her mother in her the heart. Margie is a beach lover as well as in everyday life, inspires her.
